Napkin Doodles ||

 When I am out alone drinking my usual coffee or tea along with my favorite pairings of food, I often submerged myself in provocative thoughts. Sometimes they're formed by my surroundings, or from people watching. Whatever it is, I always doodle them onto a napkin. Even though I do carry a planner with many blank pages, I prefer to write them on napkins.

I know many people nowadays write their notes and reminders on their cell phones, but I almost never do. I rely on pen and paper for my daily tasks, reminders and memos. I carry a pen with me everywhere. You never know when you need to write down something, because if you are like me, you will forget. Nowadays, I often doodle on napkins because I realize I don't have many blank pages left on my planner (And I need to save them for emergencies!). Now it is becoming a ritual part of my daily routine.

LA fun + eats

LA is an amazing city with great lights, shops and eateries, and sight seeing.
Today, we visited two spots. One - a new and upcoming cafe spot in a quiet, suburban neighborhood and the Farmer's Market.

Let's take you to the Manifesto Cafe first.

>It is a quaint cafe in a lovely and not so busy neighborhood in Montecito Heights. The ambiance is mellow and the menu board is simple to follow. You have your basic espresso drinks and other non-coffee beverages that pairs well with their organic, homemade and local entrees.I myself, had the Maya Angelou sandwich along with a cayenne caramel latte. Since everything is made in order to ensure freshness, I took the time to look around the cafe. There is a shelf of books for customers to read, and free Wi-Fi available as well. Comfortable rustic seating area, perfect for a quiet place to have prolonged conversations, read or study or just to hang out.

the Farmer's Market
I have been to the Grove, shopping area, but I have never been to the farmer's market. We arrived there much later than expected, but the atmosphere was quite lovely. People were busy walking, reaching their destinations. Grabbing a quick bite to eat after shopping or before shopping. The fruits and vegetables were all organic and local, and you couldn't believe how lovely the scent was. I tried my first fig, ever, and it was exquisite. It was semi-sweet and the seeds gave an unique texture.

A Good Read

My new favorite book is, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami.

It is a wonderful blend of mystery, romance, fantasy and drama that makes you question about your own life. To me, it really changed my ways of how I view certain things—relationships, careers, the strangers I meet and the strangers I haven’t met. I notice similar patterns with the protagonist. I love a book where I can envision the way each character looks, the backgrounds/settings and envision the voices of each character and what a wind-up bird sounds like. I recommend this book for those who enjoy a slice of life lesson with fantasy and romance.

Weekend Adventure

 Back Again...

from a long hiatus. This summer has been quite unpredictable and busy. One major thing I did this
summer was attending the Comic Con Convention in
 San Diego. It was truly an unforgettable experience. My lovely boyfriend and I attended for four days. Here are
 some pictures of the awesome cosplays that we ran into.

But San Diego's weather was so spectacular! Living near the hot desert, it was literally 100 degrees over the weekend, but luckily we were in San Diego where it was around 70s and even lower! But alas, I'm back home and it is the Fall season...well South Californian "Fall".
